Nonprofit boards chart the course for the vision and mission of the organization. They govern and lead, they plan and monitor. They have to uphold the legal duties of care, loyalty, and obedience.
The USA Gymnastics board failed on multiple levels, so much so that it’s hard to comprehend. And, the resignations came only after pressure from the Olympic Committee some 18 months after allegations and admissions.
