Columbus Mayor Andrew J. Ginther will give his fourth State of the City address this evening. I look forward to hearing what he has to say but I’m guessing the message will be that the state of the city, and of the region, is strong.
Columbus has made headlines recently with articles in USA Today, New York Times, New York Post, Wall Street Journal, Smart Cities, Brookings, Intelligent Communities, Venture Beat, Inc., Money, and Washington Post — just to name a few.
We can use the external validation of press articles like these to tell us how vibrant this community is. But we also have the experience of living and working here.
Every day, we connect with nonprofit and business leaders, donors, community advocates, elected officials, and colleagues throughout the community. We are inspired by the ideas, energy, and generosity of time and resources that they demonstrate in meeting the community’s deep needs. Whether it’s reducing infant mortality, increasing affordable housing, or improving the quality of life in every neighborhood — this city comes together in big and small ways.
We look forward to celebrating the continued growth of Columbus and to supporting the Mayor as he furthers the progress of America’s Opportunity City.
