Gift giving during the holidays is often for more than our own families – it’s a time of generosity where many are inspired to give to others they may not know.
The Marine Corps Toys for Tots program is one of the most well-known. Last year, the Columbus chapter donated more than 100,000 toys to nearly 84,000 children. What an incredible level of support from Lima Company.
There are other programs, too, that have a tremendous impact.
- Franklin County Children’s Services Holiday Wish program that provides gifts for more than 6,500 children.
- Besa Columbus Wish 2024 spreads kindness and joy through wish lists for senior citizens as well as stocking stuffers to support senior needs.
- Huck House Holiday Drive includes a holiday gift drive with more than 140 wish lists, gift bags for outreach programs, cookie drive for residents, and their annual Light Up the House event.
- St. Vincent Family Center Adopt-A-Family will support 700 children and families and includes a family interest survey to connect donors with families in need.
- Buckeye Ranch Hope for the Holidays matches donors with youth ages 10 to 17 who are receiving services.
- YWCA Columbus has options for a donation drive, making blankets, hats, and scarves, assembling care packages, and Amazon wish lists for both the family center and women’s residency.
- Nationwide Children’s Hospital has options for gifts to make, such as blankets or bead bags, but also to purchase through Amazon wish lists and specific lists for different areas of the hospital.
- The Starfish Assignment partners donors with local law enforcement to build connections with the people and communities served.
