Kerri Mollard Is a BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant.

We began the year with a collaboration with BoardSource, and we end the year with an exciting announcement about our inclusion in the BoardSource network of affiliated consultants.

BoardSource is our nation’s recognized leader in nonprofit board governance, working to support, train, and educate nonprofit leaders in communities across the country. Their new network of consultants will further meet nonprofit needs by helping nonprofit leaders find qualified consultants to work with their boards.

I am proud to share that I am one of only 70 consultants to be invited and named as a Certified Governance Consultant. I look forward to engaging with our colleagues around the country and with the experts on staff at BoardSource to continue to build our capacity to meet client and community needs.

In the 17 years that Mollard Consulting has operated in service to the nonprofit sector, we have seen an exponential demand for board governance scopes.

We facilitate board retreats, conduct and analyze board self-assessments, strategize on board operations, and provide counsel on board composition including diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

It is our belief that the single most important relationship in nonprofit organizations is the relationship between the board and chief executive. The second most important relationship is among board members themselves.

When those relationships are healthy and trusted, the organization can move mountains. When those relationships are strained or broken, then it can feel like pushing a boulder up a mountain.

Our goal is to build constructive partnerships, which is why we invited Andy Davis, Associate Vice President of Education and Outreach at BoardSource to come to Columbus in January. We wanted our community to hear from him to increase knowledge and build capacity.

What we learned in January’s Nonprofit Forum at The Columbus Foundation and Columbus Metropolitan Club (CMC) Forum is outlined in our part one and part two columns. The recording of the CMC Forum can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/CMCNonprofitForum2020

Nonprofits are stronger because of the expertise of BoardSource. We are proud to call them a partner and to be recognized as a Certified Governance Consultant.
