Meet the Mollard Consulting Team! — Part One

It’s time to meet the Mollard Consulting team! Throughout July, we will introduce you to all the Mollard team members. This week you will meet: Kerri Mollard, Lindsey Steinberg, Karen Days, Lauryn Pitroff, and Colleen Speer.

Read on to learn about these amazing women, their careers, and time, so far, with Mollard Consulting.

Look out for the rest of the team later this month!

Kerri Mollard, Founder & CEO

Kerri Laubenthal Mollard founded Mollard Consulting in 2003. With a bachelor’s in art history and a master’s in arts administration, Kerri began her career at the Columbus Museum of Art. Early on, all clients were from the arts and culture sector as that was her network, but as the company has grown over the last 21 years, we now work with a broad variety of nonprofits.

Kerri is proud of all that the team at Mollard Consulting has accomplished, but when asked about her favorite or most rewarding experience, she chose celebrating the company’s 20th anniversary, the Reeb Avenue Center project, receiving referrals from past clients, and having longstanding relationships with returning clients like GCAC, CelebrateOne, Upper Arlington Education Foundation, United Schools Network, and others.

She remains passionate about arts and culture, but is also interested in education, homelessness, human services, and public-private partnerships. She loves being able to learn about all the different missions that serve our community and is energized by the growth of the company, especially its work in board governance.

Outside the office, Kerri enjoys being out in nature hiking, biking, or skiing, and is looking forward to her eleventh year riding in Pelotonia.

Lindsey Steinberg, Chief Strategy Officer & Senior Consultant

Lindsey Steinberg, our Chief Strategy Officer, and Senior Consultant, began working with Mollard Consulting in 2016 and joined full-time in early 2017. Lindsey has spent eight years guiding the work and strategy for our clients and loves the diversity and variety of her role. She is energized by meeting the unique needs of each client and helping nonprofits meet their missions.

“The community need is always greater than the nonprofits themselves”, Lindsey stated when discussing her interest in the nonprofit industry. She first became involved in the sector when working at a Washington D.C. behavioral health-focused nonprofit in policy and development and then serving as their interim executive director before moving to Columbus. With a master’s degree in education, Lindsey is most passionate about children-based organizations, education and youth services causes.

One of Lindsey’s favorite parts about working with Mollard Consulting is building long-standing relationships with clients and witnessing the trust build over the course of the work. Lindsey is always fulfilled when clients come back for a new scope of work.

Outside of the office you’ll find Lindsey going for a run, or running after her four children!

Karen Days, Chief Operating Officer & Senior Consultant

Karen Days, our Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Consultant, joined the Mollard Consulting team this past February. She began her nonprofit career serving as a fellow at the governor’s office of criminal justice services, and holds a degree in criminology from Ohio State and an MBA from Ohio Dominican University.

Karen greatly enjoys working with our clients and loves having the opportunity to not only meet but exceed their expectations. She is experienced in the nonprofit sector of family violence prevention and intervention, with most of her career being in this field. Karen is also passionate about causes for animal cruelty prevention and the eradication of racism. A significant interest is the goodwill of the organizations that are all trying to make this world better, “It’s what nonprofits do.”

Even as a newer member of the team, Karen has found the camaraderie of the team and gratitude from organizations we work with to be a rewarding aspect of the work. Outside of the office, you can find Karen gardening, traveling, or enjoying time with her pets.

Lauryn Pitroff, Director of Communications & Operations

Our Director of Communications and Operations, Lauryn Pitroff, also joined Mollard Consulting this past February. Lauryn has worked exclusively with nonprofit organizations throughout her career, but her earliest experience with the industry began at age seven, through participation in her hometown’s local theatre camp, which she later went on to direct for several years. Lauryn has both an MBA and an MPA from Ohio State, and served as a Columbus Foundation fellow while in grad school.

Lauryn fell in love with nonprofit work as a manager for an affordable housing community for seniors, where she still volunteers monthly. So far, the most rewarding aspect of her work with Mollard has been witnessing the breakthroughs boards have during board retreats. She has also enjoyed the opportunity to further the missions of the organizations we serve.

Lauryn cares deeply about causes related to housing, older adults, human services, and animals, and directs a grief camp for children and teens. After working hours, you can find Lauryn reading, crafting, hanging with her husband and dog, or planning one of their national park adventures (18 parks and counting!).

Colleen Speer, Client Engagement Manager

Colleen Speer officially joined the Mollard Consulting team in January 2024 as our Client Engagement Manager but has worked with us a subcontractor prior. The work of nonprofits holds a special place in her heart, and she loves her work with the industry because of the impact that one can have in the world.

After obtaining her bachelor’s from Ohio State in communications, economics, and marketing, Colleen began her nonprofit career working in economic development for the Columbus chamber. After transitioning to public relations work, Colleen wanted to more directly measure the impact of the work being done, which began her career shift into fundraising at The Ohio State University. At Mollard, she loves to help our clients really think about outcomes over outputs and enjoys helping them have their “aha” moment, especially when it comes to donor-centric fundraising.

Colleen is most interested in causes that are focused on helping children and families thrive, supporting veterans, maternal mental health causes, and those that help provide basic needs like food and shelter internationally. When planning a family getaway, Colleen loves to visit the mountains of Tennessee. She spends her free time creating digital photo scrapbooks, (attempting to) golf, and improving her photography skills.
