Congratulations, Junior Achievement of Central Ohio

We were happy to learn that our client, Junior Achievement of Central Ohio, received almost $150,000 in support from the State of Ohio’s Community Connectors program.

Much like Junior Achievement, Community Connectors encourages students to dream big and learn what it takes to turn their dreams and goals into reality.

The program, designed by Governor John Kasich in 2014, emphasizes the importance of mentorship by supporting initiatives that bring together students, their parents, schools, communities, faith or values based organizations, and businesses. According to its website, the Community Connectors program “strengthen[s] communities, encourage[s] mentoring opportunities, and create[s] new pathways for civic engagement that will result in higher educational achievement, higher levels of well-being and health, and workforce readiness for our state.”

Junior Achievement of Central Ohio has plans to impact 50,000 Central Ohio students by 2022, and they will most certainly be able to get closer to this goal with the support of Community Connectors.

Mike Davis, President of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio, said of the award, “This grant will provide funding to significantly expand our programming in the Westerville School district at the middle and high school levels for FY19. This was a very competitive process with more than 199 applicants, requesting more than $20 million in funding, from the $8 million funding round. Due to [our team’s] leadership, the momentum and support for our work continues to grow.”

Once again, congratulations, JA, for a job well done.
